Abstinence
Sure, many people scoff at abstinence as an impossibility. But look around you. You’ll be surprised at how many people actually forestall sexual contact or have put it on hold for a while, quite willingly and happily. They do it for a variety of reasons: they’re not ready, they’re faithful to religious beliefs that discourage sex before marriage, they’ve had negative sexual experiences, or they are waiting for Mr. or Ms. Right. While we’re not preaching abstinence, we do recognize it as a viable option. And you, too, should respect your friends’ or your partner’s wishes to refrain from sex.
