Campus Resources – The Place to Go for Those In the Know
You can be sure that your college is hip to student drug and alcohol use and is unlikely to turn a blind eye, given the real effects on academic progress and student health. As a result, schools do their best to provide information about their policies. Many provide resources for students (as well as staff), including services such as group and individual counseling. They may stage awareness campaigns, organize outreach programs and workshops, and host chapters of recovery groups, like AA.
If you’re struggling with life’s pressures or substance addiction, visit your school’s counseling center and follow up with your family doctor. Your college health center’s staff can provide you with resources for dealing with substance use issues and coping with stress.
