Don’t buy into the perception that if you don’t declare a major tied to a career right away, it’s sink or swim. But what you should – and probably already do understand – is that earning a college degree is more vital than ever if you want to land a decent-paying job, increase your earning power and job stability, and improve your chances for promotion and upward mobility.
