Your Campus Health Center
The campus health center is not just the place to go running to when your nose is running. Your school is aware of a host of issues affecting student wellness, and offers a variety of services. Among the options offered may be:
- Evaluation of conditions and treatment of illnesses
- Referrals to community health care services
- Immunizations, such as flu shots
- Infection education
- Allergy injections
- Nutritional counseling
- Lab testing services
- Gynecological and contraception info
- Sexual safety info
- Wellness education programs and support groups
Staff -- Staff at college health centers include health counselors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and in some school, physicians on a limited basis. You are always ensured confidentiality.
Prescriptions – Some schools have arrangements with pharmacies and may even deliver prescribed medications.
