Resources We Know You’ll Need

 Visit CLD’s pages for resources:

Check your college website for the health center’s links, which should provide information about contact numbers, location, office hours, availability of staff, and maybe even links to other wellness advice. Many health centers accept walk-ins but you can get information about making an appointment. What other resources does your school provide?

  • Medical Emergencies – your college handbook will specify what you should do in a medical emergency. In many cases, calling 911 is the protocol, but you will also be advised how to contact the campus safety unit or university police. The college website may also have information about after-hours care and emergency procedures, and a parents’ guide.
  • Health Insurance – Some colleges expect all students to carry insurance and may offer several options. If your health center isn’t the place to establish your insurance status, visit your administrative offices.
  • Medical Excuse Policies – Your health center may be involved in providing verification of a medical reason for missing classes, so be familiar with your school’s policies regarding excused absences.

Forms – Life is filled with forms to fill out. The ones you may be asked to complete include:

  • Privacy statements
  • Health history forms
  • Medical releases
  • Requests for outside lab and diagnostic services
  • Food records forms

Here are some online resources we recommend:

And be well!
