Collaborative Learning
It may not happen in all of your classes, but it’s likely that your instructors will use collaborative or cooperative learning, occasionally or throughout the course. Simply put, CL provides circumstances where student are involved in making meaning and determining outcomes. This can occur in small groups in the classroom, as students work on problem-solving or writing assignments. It can happen out-of-doors, as students do field research or create something tangible. It can occur on a semester-long basis as pairs or group members work together on a project. One of the objectives of CL is to provide opportunities for applying real-world skills and activities in course curriculum and learning the values of teamwork.
